Victorian Ceiling Roses

Covering the period of 1837 – 1901, as many architectural influences were named after English monarchs so was the Victorian era this style is significant as it preserved and reinvented many diverse influences from the past. Architects who practised it were inspired by unique ways to blend architecture, purpose, and everyday life in a meaningful way. It was the start of a building revolution which included the introduction of terraced housing. Leading architects of this period were Thomas Cubitt and William Morris whose most famous legacy was the Arts and Crafts movement.

The standard range of Hayles and Howe cornices and ceiling roses carefully reflect this period the most popular being HH6, HH19 and HH39 all Plain Victorian in varying sizes, and HH27 Leaf and Dart cornice and particular ceiling roses CE10 41” Victorian, and CE3 19” Victorian.
