In this complex year long project Hayles and Howe worked closely with the Conservation Architect, client and main contractor to reproduce exquisite internal and external lime plaster finishes. Restoring Greenway National Trust property back to its original atmospheric and timeless beauty.
High Quality Workmanship
The work also included the complex running in-situ of cornices to match existing. The facade required every architrave, sill and over window to be repaired and redressed. Bringing back the sharpness of the original scheme. Most of which had to be hand ruled or run with small templates in-situ. This successful and prestigious project required the highest level of quality, workmanship and finish using only traditional methods and materials.
Comments at the FPDC Awards
The project received high comments at the 2009 FPDC Awards. The Judges commented that Hayles and Howe completed…
“A delightful and virtually undetectable example of rendering restoration. The project, on a listed building using traditional materials, included running of a new eaves cornice moulding to match other elevations and perfectly matched render on a curved bay, along with three new chimneys with beautifully moulded cappings.”
