Inspection
Over the years Hayles and Howe have evolved a thorough ceiling inspection management system for their customers. A preliminary inspection of the ceiling is recommended prior to a full survey.
A preliminary inspection enables Hayles and Howe to work with the owners or managers of buildings to ascertain the extent of the information that will be required before a full condition survey, report and certification can be completed. The initial inspection will also highlight any immediate concerns and recommendations for repair to be addressed.
Ceiling certification will only be given if the ceiling is found to be in good condition or after any recommendations from a full survey have been completed.
As ceilings in public buildings can be vulnerable to damage a regular ceiling inspection is recommended.
If you would like more information regarding the company ceiling inspections or a quotation please phone or email the Hayles and Howe team.

Bath Assembly Rooms – Case Study
Our work at the Bath Assembly Rooms required us to restore and replace the beautiful decorative plasterwork and totally renew the ceilings. The strapwork had to be completely replaced whilst the ceiling coves and flat work were all plastered by hand. We took responsibility for re-creating the historic and beautiful interior for which we received the prestigious Plaisterers Trophy.
Royal Opera House – Case Study
A part revamp of the Royal Opera House’ auditorium saw our team suspended on a ‘flying carpet’ platform to repair and redecorate the fibrous ceiling plasterwork. The project took two weeks and saw the team repair the balcony fronts and survey the frieze above the stage.
